So I have been away. I have many good excuses but several bad ones as well and wont bore you with the details of either set. Anyways I'm going to answer this before I try and cover the last few weeks.

1)Total number of books in your house:
ummm 100s. I don't know.

2)The last book you bought was:
Unexpected Knitting Debbie New. Yeah, I broke down and did the dirty. $60 later I was overwhelmed but inspired. Good buy but maybe I should have looked for it at the public library.

3)What was the last book you read before reading this?
I'm rereading the Early Diary of Anais Nin vol.2 I like this volume because it makes me giggle. I belong to several Nin societies and can't recommend her work/life enough. A good 50+ of the 100s of books in the house.

I'm also starting The Artist's Way (Julia Cameron) yet again. God help me.

I was going to download Joyce's Ulysses for my ipod 'cause I figured it's the only way I'll ever get through it....I filled up on 3G's of TBC, Wainwrights and unreleased Lindsey Buckingham instead. There's always next year.

4)Write down 5 (or 6) books you often read or that mean a lot to you.
1.Anais' Diaries. Her archetypes are universal. I often ask myself WWADo? She's an inspiration to both my femininity and my feminism. And she also gets my ass in gear in terms of my own journaling.

2.Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon series. The most amazing ouvre ever. Not even kidding! Brilliant storytelling beautiful artwork and Tuxedo Max!
3.Anything Renee Vivien...my hero.

4.I love 'The Linnet's Tale' by Dale C. Willard. It's like a Jane Austen novel but with mice (and a linnet).

5. The Veil's Edge, Willow Polson-To choose one from that section of my minilibrary. Deals with the practical use of quantum physics in everyday spiritual life. I 'often read' this one b/c I don't always get it and would like to be able to quote it.

6-10 Assorted knitting and knitting inspiration including Kaffe Fassett and Judy Chicago

This is a weird list. If I'd done it yesterday it would have been different. It's missing a lot of novels. Also Agatha Raisin Mysteries. yum.

5)Who are you going to pass the stick to (three people) and why?
Tere-A clever girlie who seems to be a homebody so prolly reads quite a bit.

Stephanie at Glampyre b/c she is someone I'd like to know! What does she read that inspires her designs? Inquiring knitters want to know.

Ana Voog -Can I do that? She is so cool and I've never messaged her...now I have an excuse!

Home again, home again. The trip was crazy but coming home to all those amazing comments was so wonderful I can't even tell you how much. Thankyou thankyou! The problem with getting them published is that I don't who would be interested. I don't think IK or Knitty would like my stuff. That said I think that means that there is a market for them...maybe on my blog? Or could I set myself up like StichDiva or folks like that? I'll have to give it a good long think ala Pooh Bear.
Morgan fact: I didn't make the connection between Kanga and Roo being kangaroos until well past puberty. I also didn't realise that Polkaroo is always played by the guy (Can.girls will know what I mean) Okay, I just realised as I wrote that that they're both 'roo's! hmmm that must mean something...any ideas what?
Well I'm going to post again later. Ihave so many things here at my apartment that I havn’t had photos of to post since I started my site. I also love it when y’all post photos of where you knit so I will do that too. I even took photos on the train of the project I worked on for the 24h hours it took to get here. ppps ok I’m really going now, I can hear my soup boiling...and the tugboats in the harbour. I made gloup soup w/everything in the kitchen. I had no groceries in(but the bar was fully stocked lol) Plus my amazing Aunt met me at the station with a 6pack of Guinness, but alas I had no veg in the fridge. Gloup on!

Back. This was inspired by R2 with the crazy big holes you can just make out. When I first used this skein I knit up a simple scarf thinking it would show off the yarn, but it just looked like a shaved poodle. It was named Poor Fifi. I still like the name :) ooops, just noticed in the foto that I didn't take out the stitchmarker lol

Here I am on tippytoes trying to look like I have long legs when really, you should be checking out the shrug I mentioned a few weeks ago w/o a name, worked up in Bernat Cashé. I assure you I do have two feet. (arrr! captain morgan has only one.mmm....captain morgan)

Keep with me now....b/c this is the coolest: so I was making Twinkle's 'cabled shrug' from VKwinter04 and then I changed the yarns, length, cuffs, collar and um orientation (I have it on backwards) and this is the most beautiful knit ever. It doesn't come across in the photo but it's a jumbo cable over 30sts. I used Homespun in Corsican and dare I say it....phentex black for the cuffs....I wasn't at home and got the idea for black cuffs. I will redo them.

But the real star is the Drop Stitch detailing! Look at the amazing curves of the cable b/c of it! Wow. Now I want to dropstitch everything.
Well, I head off on the train today, so I'm feeling v.virtuous about all this posting! (maybe there will be lots of comments when I get home? *hint hint*lol I'm so needy)

In other news, I've started a new blog: Fiberous Inspirations....it's just that. I'm trying to make a real effort to keep my wouldbe projects and ideas in order and cut down on paper. (Also I can't afford Rowan Magazines or to shop at Anthropologie so I will have to make up my own patterns from these photos.)

Oh, and here's what I want to make from the new VKInternational. I don't like how they're showing it here but you can imagine. This whole spread is v.rowan inspired :)

I head back to Halifax after easter and now I'm terrified that I wont be able to blog on my laptop...some programs work on it and some don't. I should be able to blog but not as often, so I'm planning on posting a lot between now and then. I also want to start a page of potential projects or at least things I want to copy :) Wow this photo is really something lol

New armband for my old school ipod. patt from knit.1. in bravo crazy colour 'barcelona'.("I can't escape these velvet drapes, don't want my rings to fall off my fingers") I adjusted the pocket size for my jumbopod and the arm circ. for my apparently oversized upper arms...(wtf)

I havn't been blogging....entré nous, I've been entrelac-ing. I've wanted to try this so bad, but was so confused by the instructions I found online that I almost cried into my knitting (no lie) *until* I broke down and bought Interweave's 'Scarf Style'. I didn't think anything could ever justify a whole book of scarf patterns but I am in love with this book! And the entrelac instructions for the 'Lady Eleanor' shawl actually make sence. I think I'm just making a square swatch here. I could turn it into a bag or a pillow...I joined the Scarf Style Knitalong and found lots of beautiful examples of my goal: Lady Eleanor in Noro. You have to go look! I've also started "Ruffles" and see many of them in my future. 

I seamed up my "Lamé" and found that it's too big for me. So I stoped at the waistband on the second side. I figured I can still just cinch it and tie it differently so it fits at the waist, but then I tried it on as a ponchlette

Doesn't it look great? Even with out the funky weaving I want to do through all the eyelets. I'm going to use a varigated ribbon yarn and maybe a satin fabric with ragged edges-that's what they did in the R2 mag. I think I'm going to have to make another though cause I like it both ways! This way reminds me of the Rowan Biggie Stuff.

Forgot to post: this was the project for the train. I finally started the Double Helix Cable. I think I'm going to use mine as an insert in a sweater...maybe as the spine? The people at the clinic were amused, I think. I can't explain DNA but I sure can knit it.
